AUTHENTIC TRANSLATION OF THE SPEECH OF SIDI JAMAL – DHIKRA 2025

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
May prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the chosen Prophet of sublime and perfect attributes. The Prophet of all creation, the noblest and most honoured of beings. The perfect man, the essence of beauty and perfection, the guide to Allah’s straight path. He who was sent as compassion and mercy for all creation. May he be blessed along with his noble family and his beloved companions, pure and virtuous.

Dear assembly of invocators of God,
Praise be to Allah, who has gathered us today to honour the memory of our spiritual master, our father, and our guide, Sidi Al-Hajj Hamza Al-Qadiri, may his secret be sanctified.
This noble man of pure lineage devoted his life to the service of religion and the call to Allah with wisdom and benevolent exhortation. Recognizing his qualities and merits, we affirm that he was a radiant light in the heavens of Sanctity and a steadfast mountain on the path of Allah and His Messenger. Through him, we received immense blessings and an educative teaching that elevated our souls towards higher spiritual dimensions.

We owe to our spiritual father the merit of the renewal of Sufism, adapted to the demands of our time and the evolution of contemporary contexts, while ensuring the preservation of the essential principles of Sufi spiritual education. These principles remain alive and manifest within our Zawiya Qadiriyya Boutchichiyya, renowned for its spiritual and intellectual riches.
The goal is to preserve this Muhammadan heritage while making it accessible to seekers from all social and intellectual backgrounds, thereby protecting them from the dangers of extremism, exclusion, and misinformation. This initiative is part of a vision that values an Islam of moderation, justice, love, peace, and compassion.

Sidi Al-Hajj Hamza (may his secret be sanctified) embodied piety and spiritual elevation, achieving through his reformist words and deeds, the heights of spiritual knowledge and moral leadership. Under his influence, the Zawiya Boutchichiyya became a true beacon, dedicated to the education of souls, the enlivening of hearts through the remembrance of God, the promotion of solidarity and sincere service to the homeland and the Commander of the Faithful. Through an approach that is at the same time simple and profound, it teaches that the path to God is based on humility, renunciation, and inner purification, with the goal of reforming souls and nourishing the hearts of believers.

Dear brothers and sisters,
After the departure of our master to the divine mercy, the responsibility of preserving this heritage—which is the message of the call to God—now rests upon our shoulders. This
call is founded on sincerity in word and deed, clarity of thought, and a balance between wisdom and spiritual guidance, whilst following the path built upon the Book and the Sunnah.
Thus, it is our responsibility to hold firmly to the Holy Qur’an, as Allah the Most High has said: “Indeed, this Qur’an guides to what is most upright.”
And it is up to us to stick firmly to the tradition of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as Allah the Most High has said: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.”

Next, it falls to us to follow his noble companions, as Allah the Most High has said: “The foremost [believers] among the Emigrants (Al Muhâjirîn) and the Helpers (Al Ansâr), and those who followed them with excellence—Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. That is the ultimate success!”
Today, we strengthen this message of calling people to benevolence and closeness to God by adopting an approach rooted in inner peace and serenity of the heart. By Allah’s grace, the Zawiya Qadiriyya Boutchichiyya continues to expand its influence, growing in scope and impact while reaching an increasing number of hearts eager for guidance through its teachings, knowledge, and spiritual vitality.
The continuity of this blessed path attests to the strong foundations laid by our pious ancestors—a sacred heritage transmitted through a golden chain tracing back to the Prophet Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This precious trust, carried with pride and dignity, is a divine light that illuminates souls and purifies hearts.

As for me, a humble servant, I share with you the glad tidings: this divine secret, granted to me, is a light that illuminates and a treasure that enriches our souls and which is the same secret that enlightens the heart of my beloved son, Sidi Mounir, ensuring a luminous and continuous connection. As my father told me, shortly before the death of my grandfather, Sidi al-Hajj Abbas (may Allah sanctify their secrets), while entrusting me with his will, he said clearly and emphatically:
“What I possess, you also possess.”
Today, I declare before the heavenly assembly and bear witness before all of you to this secret by repeating the words of my forefather:
“What I possess, Sidi Mounir also possesses.”
Allah, the Most High, has said: “Allah knows best where to place His message.”
O Allah, I bear witness to You, Your angels, Your prophets, and Your saints that I entrust this secret to my son, Sidi Mounir, my worthy successor. Accept him, be with him, strengthen him, and support him. Make him a light in this world and a guide in the hereafter. O Lord of the Merciful, with Your permission, may he be a worthy bearer of this divine secret.

By Allah’s will and power, this divine secret will remain in this house until Allah inherits the earth and all who reside in it, according to His will and omnipotence.
Allah, the Most Merciful, has said: “Such is the favour of Allah that He gives to whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of enormous favour.”
O assembly of invocators,
Know that the path to Allah rests on sincere commitment, truthfulness of intention, and dedication of deed.“O you who believe! When you meet a troop, be firm, and invoke Allah much in order to succeed.”
Dear assembly of invocators of God,
I urge you, as I urge myself, to hold fast to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), with sincerity in remembrance and action.
I also recommend that you take care of the Holy Qur’an, recite it and memorize it. The Qur’an is Allah’s heavenly banquet for His servants and a mercy for all mankind.
I also urge you to love the Qur’an, study it and prepare to reap benefits. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Learn the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Judgment as an intercessor for its companions.”

I also encourage you to practice individual and regular Dhikr of Allah and to persevere in your spiritual commitments. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:”O you people, act according to your abilities, for Allah does not grow weary as long as you do not grow weary. And the deeds that Allah prefers are those that are performed consistently, however few they may be.”
I urge you to preserve religious practices, avoid unnecessary or frivolous gatherings, and emphasize the importance of covering your own faults as well as those of others. Cultivate moral qualities while getting rid of bad habits. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Stick to what is obligatory and persevere in your actions.”
I urge you to persevere in collective dhikr circles, in the spiritual life in zawiyas, and to take your children to these places so that they grow in the love of dhikr and good deeds, while progressing in worship.
I also recommend generosity and almsgiving in the path of Allah, performing good deeds. Allah, the Most High, has said:”Those who recite the Book of Allah, perform prayer and
spend [in the way of Allah] secretly and publicly from what Allah has granted them, hope for a trade that will never perish.”(Sura Fatir, verse 29).
The fruits of Dhikr take the form of good deeds, including mutual aid amongst the followers of this path. This includes visiting the sick, assisting the needy, and supporting spiritual and patriotic principles, in a spirit of service to community and nation, in close collaboration with other Sufi paths in our Kingdom.

Honourable Assembly,
I recommend that you stick to the glorious pact of Al-Arsh, a pact of faith and spirit that guarantees the honour and dignity of our nation. Our commitment to this pact is a sacred duty. The Commander of the Faithful, an example of strategic thinking and enlightened governance, demands of us attentiveness, obedience, loyalty, sincerity and fidelity.
This is in accordance with the verse revealed by Allah:
“O you who have believed, obey Allah, obey the Messenger and those who hold command among you.”
We implore Allah to grant eternal glory to the heavenly throne and victory to the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI. May Allah sustain him, elevate him in dignity and achievement, and bestow upon him with health, happiness and success throughout his life.
May Allah strengthen and guide Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid and all the members of the noble royal family.
O Most Powerful One, protect our Sahara and preserve the unity of our homeland. Bring security and peace to our brothers in Palestine and bless them with the means to live in justice and tranquillity.
O Allah, show us the truth and guide us to follow it, show us what is false and help us avoid it. Accept our supplications, for You are the One who answers prayers.
O Allah, remove war and conflict from all of humanity, as You have said: “Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it.
Allah has said: “And when My servants ask you about Me, then I am near: I answer the call of the one who prays to Me when he invokes Me. So let them answer My call and believe in Me, that they may be well guided.”
“Lord, do not let our hearts go astray after You have guided us, and grant us Your mercy, for You are The Giver.”
